T1 refresh carry forward not working

Is it just one file you’re having an issue with? This error means that the internal identifier of the taxpayer you carried forward does not match the internal identifier of the taxpayer you are using to refresh the carryforward. So the other issue could be that the link to the file from which the taxpayer was carried forward is no longer correct.

I have one file that refuses to refresh the carry forward. No error message - it just does nothing. I assume the current year file has somehow lost the link to the prior year file? But, when I click “prior year” (to GO to the prior year), it actually does open the prior year file.

Any suggestions? How do I check the link to the prior year file?

Have you tried removing the link to the file and relinking?

Click on File/Info
Should see a linked files section.
Click on. Far right see remove link.
Then relink and see what happens.
