Allow the other spouse to access the same TaxFolder account. I understand that it will be two clients, but allowing access to some sort of mirror of the account would be very helpful.

They already can. We have tons of couples who are sharing the same email and phone number on file. It’s annoying and leads to tons of issues with the spouses signing each other’s forms.

From there they can use the same login info they create to log in.

You have two options:

  1. As suggested above, you could use one email address for both spouses. Each spouse would have a separate engagement under a single client. You could also use the first name field to add both spouses names in TaxFolder so it is clear that it is for both spouses.
  2. Your client could create one TaxCycle Sign in account using an email and password they both share and then use that to connect to both TaxFolder client accounts. This way they would have one email and password to access both TaxFolder client accounts.

I maintain my suggestion of having two emails and two passwords for the same shared account.

Not to be rude, but … why? What purpose does that serve that sharing the same login info doesn’t?

I’ve just come across a situation where it would be helpful to be able to have both spouses have shared access to the same corporate engagement, as they are 50/50 shareholders and both involved in the year end paperwork. I’m not sure how to get corporate documents requiring both their signatures to them. They each have their own logins and separate T1 folders, but now I think I have to flip a coin to see which one of them I will attach the T2 engagement to.

As an admin, I’d love to have the option to toggle between spouses and dependents in TaxFolder similar to how it works in TaxFolder. (they can still have their own accounts)

It really slows me down having to go in and out of each client just to access all the family members documents. Hoping this is something that might be available one day!
