Workflow (Track tab) preparer ID

Something has changed and I don’t know if it is in my Options profile or what.

Around the time that T1 filing opened this year (Feb 24, 2025), my ID changed in TaxCycle. That is, whenever I complete a task or check it off on the Track tab, it shows that task completed “…by ANR” (initials representing my firm name). Previously it used to show completed “…by Nxxxxx” (my name). When my staff complete a task it still shows THEIR names, but on my computer it has changed.

Where does TaxCycle grab the preparer ID for that? I’ve checked the Options profile and tried changing various fields that refer to the preparer, but it changes nothing.

The name showing in workflow for completed tasks comes from your windows environment UserName. Did that get changed in February?

Hmm. That could be. I was having issues with MS Office at some point in the last year, and had to change the MS account tied to my Windows login. I don’t remember exactly when that was, but it could have been late February…
