Why cant I retreive T4 from CRA upload

is anyone else having problems with retrieving t4, etc from CRA website. I carryforward my clients and do the AFRupload and that is all the information it gives me is the AFR & CDE. Did I miss something? Do I have to set things up differently? I have always retrieved the information for my clients

When you log into the client’s CRA file on RAC, are the client’s tax slips available? I’m finding with my clients that its hit and miss, with many slips still not available on CRA’s site yet.

If there are slips available on RAC and TaxCycle AFR is not downloading them, then check the configuration of the AFR popup that shows your client’s name checked off. Make sure the green box isn’t checked selecting to open a previous download.

Thank you I think it is just a hit and miss. I was wondering if it was because they gave the extentions for people to get the t2 etc file done so they are holding off on releasing everyone stuff. I am guessing. I dont know I just thought maybe I missed a step this year and I needed to go set myself up somewhere or something LOL

Is it still early in the tax season and unfortunately many slips won’t be available yet. It isn’t uncommon for some forms to not be uploaded until May or June. I find the big bank RRSP forms are typically late into tax season which is frustrating.

In case you hadn’t seen it yet, CRA waived late filing penalties for T4s/T5s/etc to March 7, which is effectively the same as extending the filing date:

I also heard (via March edition of “Life in the Tax Lane” by Video Tax News) that CRA extended T3 filing deadline to June (!?!) - so, good luck getting T3 slips before the T1 filing deadline…

Like Nezzer pointed out, many (like myself) are still filing slips ahead of the extended deadline and they can’t be available for AFR until they’ve been filed & processed…as for RSP slips - I believe deadline for those to be filed with CRA by the institutions is sometime in May?

yeah I was getting nothin not even t4’s so I was just checking to see if anyone else was having problems or if thier was an issue

I was, too. T4 slips can’t come through if not filed & processed.
