Where is Joe with his excellent technical tax analysis? Have not seen him here in a bit…
Looks like they have banned him again.
I wish they would ban the general public from the forum instead.
I agree. Sometimes he is a little bit too much of a stickler, but this forum really benefits from his expertise.
He is on another forum where it is “pros only” so we can engage in actual technical discussions, rather than (sometimes) explaining that Uncle Bob’s tax knowledge may not be exactly…accurate. Also, it’s, private so is non-scraped by Google et al.
TaxCycle would be well-advised to set up a pros-only section here, wall it off from spiders and web bots - they already know who actually are clients or potential clients. I just don’t get why they’d even WANT public access to the forum.
You want general inaccurate tax info? Go to Reddit. Lots of it there!!
Which forum is that?
Taxboard.ca
Ya beat me to it…
I wish Joe would just be a little kinder in his comments on the forum. He is right but he does not need to be so snarky about it.
For this reason I tried switching to Taxboard but I prefer the look and feel of this board better. It would be great if it were at least Taxcycle users only. It makes me nervous that the this board is searchable by Google. If someone misinterprets the tax “advice” they perceive to have received on this forum, it may be a liability to some of the professionals, especially those using their real names.
But this forum has been an invaluable resource to me, being a one person practice! I so appreciate all the feedback, ideas and collaboration, especially Joe’s technical knowledge (and sometimes even his rhetoric )!
I agree 100% with @Versa. If we could have it locked to TaxCycle users only, that would be great.
How can I get an invitation from Taxboard?
Thank you
Go to taxboard.ca, Enter, Register.
They’ll get back to you.
@versa Really, one forum and board is much the same as another. The important piece is privacy and the exchange of information at a professional level. I’m on all kinds of them (including Reddit, which I detest in many ways, but is useful for oddball info, but not tax!).
FWIW, I see a “Cameron Peters” registered at Taxboard, so unless it’s another Cam Peters, TC is aware of it as a pro forum.
Google Taxboard will give you the information you are looking for
