Any update? Feb 08 today and clients are bringing their stuff in to the office for filling their 2024 tax returns
Is available now… and has been for a while already
They may mean when are the preview stamps going to be lifted so that returns can actually be filed. I am hoping for Monday myself.
Well that is somewhat sneaky. It’s there but not on auto update yet. You have to go manually download the program update.
It is in the newsfeed in the Taxcycle program…
The real question is, when CRA finishes Annual Conversion, whether ANYTHING will work…
I do so little personal tax work now, that it doesn’t really matter when I start. I could begin on April 15 and still breeze through it. But I DO pity all those out there who have loads of T1s still.
It’s Feb 24th
Oh I know the date. The question remains: will anything work when they’re done? So far after EVERY maintenance window something has been broken. I’m not holding my breath.
Yes, I believe so.
As noted by @SmallBizGuy, it’s not up to TaxCycle. The entire CRA filing system is down until Feb 24 - as usual for this time of year. TaxCycle isn’t allowed to permit users to file tax returns until that date.
No other software is allowed to file until that date either…
The current version is AFR ready but is still not an approved filing version. Competition has released a filing version so the question remains. When can we expect a filing version? Some of us do have a significant amount of T1 business. Even though they cannot be filed until the 24th the sooner I can start getting them out the door the better.
OK People lets take a deep breath they have had to put stuff in the program for capital gain for the 2/3 then take it out. Then there are may pages that have changed from last year EG.T776 , i myself have many t1 to do by April 30. I have a feeling we might see a new release by Friday let all go watch the Super Bowl and chill. Remember CRA has to approve taxcycle for filing taxcycle cannot give us the un watermarked t1 till cra say approved
But you can’t actually “get them out the door”…
I get stacking and banking them…but inevitably, CRA will introduce changes. You know that.
With CRA approved software, by “out the door” I am referring to signed, paid and picked up by the client. I am used to submitting those early filers on the morning the CRA flips the switch… For the last few years that has been on Family Day and previous to that it was a week earlier and this year they have shortened the season another week.
In any event, as the original poster enquired, it would be nice to have an idea when they expect the filing version to be available. I remember when Taxcycle published the dates they expected to have the different modules available.
At the rate changes are being made, TaxCycle can hardly be blamed for not giving us dates. I was after a developer for a finish date and he responded “We sell software, not airware.” In other words when it is ready, it is ready and we will release it.
Well as I said some of the competition has a filing version released.
Every one i checked is still preview they are all going thru approvals
This first 2024 production release of Cantax T1Plus has been approved by the CRA for the 2024 tax year for filing purposes (paper and EFILE). Although most returns for 2024 can be prepared with this version of the program, some CRA forms have not yet been received.
Release of Version 2.0 of Personal Taxprep 2024
We are pleased to announce the release of version 2.0 of Personal Taxprep 2024, which is now available for download.
I am done with this. I don’t think anyone is going to miss the topic though. LOL
The Super Bowl was definitely the wrong thing to watch to chill me out LOL
