T1 (and maybe other modules) suggestions 2021 edition

Aha!

Had to deselect the “Sort auto-complete entries” checkbox in options to make the “X” show up!

TaxCycle, can you please fix this so that we can also Delete using the “X” when we have the sorting option set?

Well, it didn’t take long to figure this one out!

I am also able to delete from the dropdown list. when I move my mouse over the line from the drop-down list it shows grey X and when I move my mouse over the X it becomes active(red color) and able to delete.

Thanks, Mike. That fix worked. Wow, who would have guessed you would need to uncheck the sorted box to make this work! Great detective work!

This thread has really been hi-jacked by one issue and I will continue with it. I would really like to have this feature in Doxcycle where almost all of my medical expenses are organized and posted from.

Even better would be a user defined set list of medical expenses to draw from.

Thanks for bringing it back, Arliss. I would like DoxCycle to have room for more scan shortcuts. I’ve been frustrated by the amount of items that aren’t automatically allocated when scanning client information.

An easy way to sort and order the short cuts would also be nice.

I gave up on DoxCycle because it didn’t work well enough on Medical.

Just curious, @obhorst, what you use in place of DoxCycle?

What I wanted most from DoxCycle was to import medical expenses and store PDF copies of tax returns. DoxCycle cost me time with medical expenses - it would occasionally still be convenient to store documents but I can just scan to a customer PDF.

Yes I know the ability is already there but it needs to be easier to accomplish

One other pet peeve of mine is the AFR screen, when you download slips and the data has already been entered, the afr should be able to consider the values imputed when matching. I seem to have to physically match all the T4rifs and T5 slips when the slip is already there and Taxcycle could easily do the match for me.

Still would like some way to still see the original values of the T3 slips and T5008 on the right hand side of the screen when we are grouping them, maybe have the original slip show up below the consolidated total. Would make it easier to find errors in mapping.

I would like client manager to allow for the ability to have better filtering like profile did. Show all returns, then i can remove those efiled, etc. I am not confident the filters we have are always correct.

I also do not understand it the medical expenses are optimized, why do I get the query to suggest that I move the medical expenses to the other spouse? but as mentioned above, better flexibility is required.

I enter one date, select client and then use Various Expenses, Medical and then run a tape

yes David, there is always a workaround, I think Kozak’s point is we should not need workarounds if we do not wish to use them rather than using the program as intended.

I use DoxCycle primarily just to sort tax slips, medical expenses, and other information. It’s frustrating to have DoxCycle stop and ask for help classifying T4A’s and T5008 forms, even though the program seems to know what type of slip it is and to whom it belongs. I really don’t care about putting the issuer’s name in the box. Can we have an option to just let the program put these slips in their place instead of having to click through them all? Maybe having a choice in the options of light or heavy classification would help.

Is there a way to carry forward the Yes or No answer in Step 2 of Sch 14? The vast majority of clients don’t move year-to-year and the “census metropolitan areas” also don’t seem to change year-to-year.

And the other answers for the Climate Tax Rebate don’t change either. Little changes add up big time.

Yes, carryforward the Yes or No answer on S14 as well as other info. We used a memo last year with a Y or N to carryforward in case it taxcycle didn’t have it as a carryforward. Glad we did that. If allowing to carry forward, perhaps a warning like there is on the the province of residence, just reminding you to confirm there is no change.
