ProTaxCommunity Updates

TaxCycle is looking forward to modernizing the ProTaxCommunity so that we can better serve you, the people that use the forum to interact with peers, industry experts, and the team at TaxCycle. We thought it was time to update the site to better align it to how you are using it. We hope these updates bring extra value to you and the entire community.

Over the next three days, a daily update will happen starting with todays visual update. It was time for a visual update, and as a team, we decided on a new aesthetic for TaxCycle. We hope you enjoy our modern interface as much as we do! (ps. We are looking into adding Dark Mode for the ProTaxCommunity, stay tuned!)

Stay tuned for the next two days of updates!

Looks like is optimized for a phone at the expense of optimization for a computer. Sign of the times I guess.

It’s not bad on computer. Just gonna take some time to get used to the new layout. I like the menu on the left - easier to get to your private message inbox, etc. But, I preferred seeing the list of threads with latest posts, without seeing a preview of the posts themselves on the ā€œmain pageā€. Is that what you mean @Arliss?

I guess that is what I mean. I am not the best with words. :grinning:

Just less visible information on screen.

would like to see ā€˜unread’ on the left bar…

I think that’s what the blue dot means.

There is also the unread filter in the top of the feed that you can toggle to, hope that helps!

Thanks everyone for the feedback so far on the updates, we encourage all the feedback that you have as we work to provide meaningful updates to the forum!

I NEVER, EVER, EVER read this forum on a phone. And, for the record, I don’t read most on a phone, though I’m a member of probably 50 different ones. Reddit I read on my phone. One or two others that are ā€œinstant newsā€ on specific subjects as well. Not anything that isn’t overly time-sensitive.

It might help if I could find that.

@arliss, only two locations I can find.

On the web, browsing from a PC:

On a phone:

Not sure I’m a fan of the ā€œexpandedā€ view…I prefer, like my email…a quick view of the topic and (maybe) one or two lines of type. If the user can’t get to the point within that time, they’ve often got to wait for a time when I want to read more. May just be me…but then I actually have an attention span (unlike many younger people LOL).

Thanks for that.

I guess it disappears when there is nothing unread. duh
