Obtaining Authorization on Deceased Taxpayer

Does ANYONE here actually know the process to gain access to a deceased taxpayer online?

Our office has experienced ongoing issues with obtaining access to a deceased taxpayers SIN. We have attempted the following steps:
Method 1
-Obtain authorization for the Executor/Executrix/Authorized Person (PAUTH)
-Using the RC552 form, we submit that along with the Will and Death Certificate to CRA via RAC

Method 2
-Obtain authorization for the Executor/Executrix/Authorized Person (PAUTH)
-Prepare PAUTH inside of Tax Software for the deceased taxpayer
-EFILE PAUTH
-Upload supporting documentation such as the Will and Death Certificate via RAC

Both of these methods sometimes work and sometimes they don’t. Is there something that we’re missing?

Yes, there’s something you’re missing, but it’s nothing you can do anything about: CRA doing its job and responding in a timely fashion.

Doesn’t matter if your upload via RAC, or FAX, whether the Will/DC are Certified True Copies or not…CRA takes, sometimes…forever…to do anything. Very frustrating.
