Favourites

2023 T1 favourites will not update from 2022 T1 favourites. It has been like this for a few updates. Still not working with the latest update. Does “Report and Close” not alert Trilogy to problems?

I have the same problem.

We are investigating. I will post an update when I have more news.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.

Steven

Our QA has been trying to reproduce it and we have not had much luck.
Would one of you willing to list the steps to reproduce the issue (post here or email us) or give our support a call 1-888-841-3040.

Steven

Go to Options/T1/TP1/Favourites. Right click 2022. Select "Apply 2022 T1/TP1 options to 2023 T1/TP1.

Thank you!

That beats any error message I’ve ever got from TaxCycle!

A couple of people tried this including myself and again unable to reproduce this. But, I will ask our engineering to decipher the exception error.

I just tried it and worked for me with no problem.

Lucky you.

This appears to be caused by the Homework template being included in the favourites bar for 2022 and is looking for the Homework template which does not exist in 2023. We are adding it to 2023 in the next update.

The workaround for now is to remove the Homework tab from the favourites in 2022 then you should be able to carry forward.

If you also have any custom templates in the favourites bar, these will also need to be updated in the template editor to apply to 2023 (you can do this in the properties tab of the template) before you carry forward.

What would the Homework tab be? I don’t have a tab called such.

Edit: I found it but did not have it in my favourites so there may be more than one. I will guess it may be “Notes” as well and will try removing it.

Edit:Wrong guess. That didn’t work. Still will not carryforward.

Edit: I really should learn to read fully. :grinning: The last paragraph will be my situation.

Found one that for whatever reason wasn’t selected as a 2023 version as well as 2022. Added to 2023 and the favourites all carried forward. Thanks for figuring it out.
