Error message on "Alternative process for individuals"

When I try to submit an authorization request through Represent a Client, as per CRA’s “Alternative process for individuals” (ie. use NOA info instead of their My Account), I am getting this error which I think is related to the SIN: Field is not valid for this service. (T906)

Anyone encountered this or know how to resolve? (already confirmed that name/SIN is correct)

Do you have CRA NOA to confirm the name as CRA has it? and you have their SIN on card or Service Canada letter? (and this is not a first time filer or deceased?)

Curious what the solution was to this issue if you solved it. I’m running into the same issue trying to generate an authorization form for a client to sign. “Field is not valid for this service. (T906)” when I try to move beyond the SIN and name section.

Yes. I posted about that myself:

Tried several times since - same error. I have had no trouble generating the form for most people, so I deduce it is something related to this particular person. Maybe CRA has their account locked due to suspected fraud or something…?

So I had this issue with a new client and thee way I resolved it was that CRA wanted the middle initial along with the first name. On the NOA it showed the first name middle initial then last name, kept on getting that error message and couldn’t get past that screen. When I added the middle initial it finally worked.

In my case, that didn’t work. I tried any and all variations of the name - with and without middle name, with and without middle initial, etc. Nothing worked. Ended up paper filing this one.
