We started with the most critical forms and are working our way through other forms as time permits.

@kozakworld
Thank you for your help. I have read what Cameron has posted and I will be using the masking sin# going forward.
I will also say I use to use profile & I have also used Cantax before I did my switch to Tax Cycle in 2013. I am very happy with Tax Cycle and all it features and all the help. This Forum community has been very helpful.
Have a great tax season

@Cameron

For some reason, my outlook will not work with TaxCycle. I have the outlook on my computer I never use it. But Taxcycle wants me to set it up and it is already set up. So I going through the steps but it just will not set up. So I guess I can still just send the t183 through my email to my clients But I do not see the instruction page for them to know how to sign using adobe?

That is why I dropped Profile when Cameron released his first release of Taxcycle in 2012. I was just thinking that we almost have enough years to handle those ten years of tax returns that need filing.

@james1 … I’ve been with Profile since 2000, so that’s a lot of years dedicated to one company. I’ve always liked their product and features built into it, but there are numerous changes that I’ve personally requested and improvements others have requested that are simply ignored. As well, software glitches go unfixed from one release to another, causing a lot of rumblings in our forum, this year more than ever before. Lots of memory issues this year requiring the need to close the program and reopen it, and tweaks made by the Profile team don’t work or work only for the short term. I have jokingly suggested that maybe they need to create a Profile build for the Linux environment, as maybe that will be more stable (I wish there were tax programs for Linux - hopefully one day soon). I have a comp sci degree (among other degrees) so understand the complexities of programming. I won’t be surprised if many of us jump shift this fall. I’m very impressed with this forum and even more impressed by the way the TaxCycle software team immediately acts on improvement suggestions made in this forum.
Glad to hear that you’ve been here for 12 years already. Says a lot.

I am correct in saying that the e-signature status only updates if the client’s TaxCycle file is open? If I search in the client manager for T183’s that have been e-signed, it won’t be updated unless I opened the client’s file?

Philippe –

Your client’s file doesn’t need to be open at the moment your client signs, but you do need to open the client’s file to check the signature status before it will show up in Client Manager. We’ll add more capabilities, like what you suggest, as time allows.

Best regards,

~ Cameron

@Cameron quick question, what if both clients (Principal and Spouse) have the same email address? Is there a workaround?

DocuSign allows two different signers to use the same email address. Each client will just need to create a signature for themselves. It works well!

We’ve also got a 20% discount on annual plans for TaxCycle clients:

Is it working yet?

So far so good.

Just done a test with my own tax file and its working fine. Hopefully clients will be quickly to adapt and adopt and hopefully CRA don’t go back to requiring wet signatures.

Cameron Kudos to your and your team for getting this out rather quickly.

I dont see the option for docusign? Do I need doxycycle?

Is there a video on Taxcycle site that shows how this works?

I am not sure, I am not sure. One of the admins would know.

@Elizabeth or @Cameron would you be able to answer @thomasvennercfp question?

Please make sure you have the latest version. We haven’t published an auto-update, you will need to update yourself using this link:
