I have a client who changed his first and last name from last year, CRA issued forms with the new name. when I efiled his return i got error code 43 "The surname entered for your client does not agree with the surname on the Canada Revenue Agency’s records. Please confirm that you have entered the correct social insurance number and name for this taxpayer. If the surname you entered was correct and a name change is required, code the record to indicate that this is a change of name."
I am sure about the SIN.
can anyone tell me how to code the record to indicate that this is a change of name.

there is a box re “did the client changed his last name in 2016”. once i checked YES, the file transmitted.
