Not (unfortunately a TaxCycle issue), but how do you deal with T1 client address changes for people who don’t have a MyAccount?
Most clients who fit that situation generally:
(a) don’t want to sit on a phone forever on GenEnquiries
(b) don’t have the info to identify themselves properly (even with a printed return)
(c) are not competent to do either of the above (too old)
Given that RAC is useless and unless we have L3 auth we can’t do it either on the phone…I can’t think of an approach that works. Snail mail?
Yes, that’s been my approach with these clients, faxing in the RC325. I’ve also submitted the form using Submit Documents. There isn’t a category specifically for it (and can’t remember the category at the moment), but I chose one that I thought this form would fit into.
I’ve done three of these forms in the last few days. I find many seniors do not change their address with Service Canada. The RC325 works for that, too.
T325 is available in the Forms Module. The new address has to be put on the Info screen, while the old address is put on the T325. You can generate a Forms File from within the T1 return, from within the Data Tab.
