Client has a large current-year instalment balance because CRA in their “wisdom” added a payment intended for a 2022 reassessment (currently in process) to the 2024 account. I’m trying to transfer it back to 2022 instalments and all goes well until…the final “submit”…where … … … nothing happens. It just sits there as if I hadn’t clicked “submit”. No error message, but no action either.
Often in these situations where an assessment is not showing on the account, a call to CRA is required to allocate the payment. Another example of delays showing up is an RRSP overcontribution assessment. One client of mine has assessments that are manual, and so payments were made by March 31 but couldn’t be allocated without calling CRA.
Yes, same. I tried several times, rebooting etc., to no avail. The client says that the CRA agent advised to put it to future year (2025), rather than the current year (2024). ??
LOL…well OK I can do that…and then, when the assessment IS actually rendered, transfer it back to “owing”…and THEN whine, bitch and complain about the interest charges….
