T5013 Data Entry

It would be fantastic if the developers of tax cycle could take the box numbers on the T5013 screen and order them in numerical order. It is a waste of time to have to scroll up and down the form, looking for the box number to enter the number from your T5013 slip.

Entering info on the T5013 is when CTRL+F come in handy. Just search the form for the box number.

that's a good suggestion! Even still, I see no reason why the programmers couldn't just order the boxes numerically. It would save significant time on data entry, particularly for clients that have a number of T5013s to report.

Agree…though “Find” {Ctrl}-F works just as quickly really. Blame CRA for the stupid order everywhere.

Agree. The box numbers make no sense and for some reason they don’t autofill but CRA seems to have the data. And all these slips have tiny tiny amounts… some even just cents! It’s a pain point. Ctrl+F is the only way and TC highlights last year’s boxes in yellow which is also helpful.

TaxCycle creates the pages to be replicas of the actual tax forms. Blame CRA, not TaxCycle (though I whole-heartedly agree with you)

We absolutely can blame TaxCycle for not creating a date entry screen which makes more sense than the way the form is set up. That data can then be used to populate the form in the same format that CRA uses, but there's no excuse for not making something more user-friendly in the software.
