I have been using TaxCycle since day 1 or 2012 and never encountered this problem: T1135 Part B does not open to enter the necessary data - never had a problem before! Any advice is appreciated.
My experience has always been that Part B does not allow for manual user entry. Instead, that data flows from the T1135 Manager which is located near the top of the T1135 schedule.
If your foreign property is such that you could report on either the “Simplified” or “Detailed” method then you must select “Detailed” in order for the information to display in Part B. If TaxCycle determines that you are not eligible for the “Simplified” reporting method (ie maximum cost over $250k) then I believe it automatically selects “Detailed” and the data you entered in the T1135 Manager should display automatically in Part B of the T1135.
Thank you for that info. I eventually figured it out. I have been doing taxes for 47 years and just had a brain fog. The previous year I was able to use the simplified version and the info carried forward. Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated. Klaus
