Currently the slips summary displays the foreign income amounts in the native denominations, the country, and the exchange rate, which I really like and appreciate for amount verification purposes against the source docs.
Currently the totals are stated in CAD, which I really like since, in the case of foreign pensions, this matches to “OTHER AMOUNTS”.
Currently the Total Column does not state the currency, which I don’t like since it is unclear to the taxpayer. We know that this is CAD. The taxpayer simply finds it confusing that the amounts don’t total, so I currently make a note on the PDF version of the slips form to note that the total is in Canadian Dollars.
My request is that, in the totals column, you add CAD to the base currency field which is currently labelled Foreign Country. Or, some other solution that you prefer.
