T1 file locking

@aliysa

I am still thinking in terms of ProFile first. Can’t recall how to do this in TaxCyle.

How can I lock the T1 file?
How can I set the filing locking as the default at completion?
How can I set the filing locking as the default at printing?
When modifying, how can I quickly unlock the file?

Please insert a link to any demo videos or blog-based set-up instructions.

The T1 file automatically locks when you efile.
You can set your default settings in options.
When you access a locked file, it will ask if you want to unlock.
I never used Profile so I found it so simple, I didn’t need the videos. I will let someone else give you links.

Hi Dominique:

I think this is what you are looking for: Security Tab - > Lock File.

As I think someone else responded, the file does automatically lock on filing.

I haven’t done it, but you can set post print actions to include locking the file, (see top right for individual print). But if you want to set the default for a print set then File - >Options – T1/P1->Pint-> Year-> print Set-> edit [top right].

When you open a locked file, Taxcycle will have a banner just under the ribbon to indicate it is locked and one-click to release:
