T1 (and maybe other modules) suggestions 2021 edition

I agree that would make more sense.

I would like a new choice and icon to reflect the fact a file has been filed by another firm when I have rekeyed for data carryforwards or adjustments.

“Will not be filed” is what I have been using but it doesn’t really reflect the situation.

I agree with your comment about the T3Rec form. This will save a significant amount of time for those clients with a large volume of slips. However, I noted one discrepancy: When slips are shared (50/50 with spouse), the T3Rec for the receiving spouse takes the shared amounts into account and generates a warning. Can shared slips should be ignored on the receiving spouse rec. As well, is “currency” taken into account?

Why is the T5008 functionality not the same as the T3Rec? Is the underlying concept not the same (many afr records, minimal T5008 slips)?

Donations Worksheet

Living in the Bible belt, I have generous givers with even 2 or 3 dozen receipts.

I would like to collapse the Cultural and Ecological Gift section in hope of being somewhat green by saving that third page every now and then.

[I would prefer it collapsed by default.]

Have any of you processed that type of gift?

I agree Helga. I usually print to PDF, then delete that third page before emailing or printing on paper. Would be nice if it could be collapsed. I’ve never used it for any of my clients.

Do any clients ever ask what happened to page 3 when you have Page 1 of 3 and page 2 of 3 because I have clients who would be looking for the third page.

No-one has asked me yet. I suspect that most clients don’t bother to look at what I give them, unless they need to phone CRA, and need to provide numbers from their tax return for identity verification.

On the Motor Vehicle worksheet, where it asks “Show motor vehicle details on XXX return?”, could the default on this be set to “No”? With my clients, that is far more often the case than splitting vehicle use between spouses.
