I have a question from a client and I’m not sure how to answer it as I have never had to deal with it before.
They have an employee that was using a temporary SIN due to being a foreign worker, but he has now been issued a permanent SIN due to change in status.
Does my client have to do anything specific regarding using this new SIN, or is it as simple as just updating his records so the T4 etc are issued using the new number?
We are both assuming this is all that needs to be done, but thought I’d put the question out to the group to be safe.
