Where do you enter the second CPP amount for T4’s? The “ink” on the T4 data entry page is green, so I can’t enter the amount withheld. I even watched all 3 of Sarka’s Slips webinars - she didn’t mention it…I’m starting to think I’m too old for this!
Other than the design & mechanics of the “second additional” CPP contribution being a complete pain and waste of resources by the legislators, I haven’t had any issues or problems completing that box on the T4 slip. There is no reason why the “first additional” CPP contribution is merely a CPP contribution whereas the “second additional” CPP contribution must be kept separate. All it does is create unnecessary work for software designers, payroll processors, and anyone who processes payroll or prepares T4 slips.
In any event, I’ll turn my rant off, and back to your question;
I have attached a screenshot of the area on the T4 slip where I have been entering the second CPP contributions. That area is not green on my data input screen, and does allow for user input. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply - I agree with your rant!
My issue was because, for some reason, the previous year file I carried forward from was a 2022 file, therefore making me do 2023 T4’s to which CPP2 didn’t apply.
