Review Notes - Pound Sign £ Issue fixed

Recently I noticed the pound sign besides certain review notes. At first, I thought that it was some issue after I updated the software an that it would be fixed eventually. However, after a couple of weeks it didn’t disappear and hence I started reading more about it. It was recommended by Taxcycle and other users to edit the shortcuts to add certain phrases in there. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. I played with a number of Language settings and it looks like the issue on my end was caused by the “Windows display language” setting set to English (Canada). Once i changed it to “English (United States)” the symbols show properly again. I currently have all 5 settings (Windows display, apps/websites, regional format, keyboard and speech) set to English (United States) and it works properly. Hope it helps for now and lets hope the team finds what the issue is because if we start having it on the English US setting I will be hopeless. Cheers

I guess someone should let MS know that Canada is a different country than the UK.

I have had this issue since I started using taxcycle years ago. I have called support in the past to try to fix it but it just keeps coming back so now I just live with it.

I just shrug my shoulders and don’t print anything with currency symbols.

Tried. They got all flustered. Like they were being invaded by aliens. I don’t think they know that anything exists outside of USA…

Like @Versa , I’ve had this issue for many years (though it didn’t show up for the first year or two). But, the /EN switch still seems to work for me - add it to the “Target” field in the shortcut properties:
