Seems to me that we used to be able to process a transfer online on RAC to move money around in a corporate client account (ie from RC to RT or current year to arrears) and the transaction occurred right away, with interest adjustment and everything.
I just processed a transfer for an amount that CRA (surprise!) stuck in the current year RP account, though it was designated for Arrears…and all I could do was fill out the form to request it…and…wait.
Didn’t we used to be able to do that instantly or am I misremembering?
As far as I know you can only transfer between RC to RT accounts.
If I remember correctly I believe RP accounts are considered trust amounts and they will not let us transfer between accounts. It’s a pain in the you know what.
Ah…the old “trust account” trap…maybe so. I’m going to search my emails to one client (always late paying on RPs…sigh) because I’m pretty sure I did that last year and it worked…but maybe I’m just not remembering right.
