Medical Expenses

If a client has medical expenses less than 3% of income and therefore better to save them to use for next year - do we still include on the Medical worksheet and they will just roll forward?
Or don’t include them on the 2017 return at all?

As per my understanding, medical expensed are claimable for any 12 months ending in the tax year. if there are some major expenses happened in the last half or quarter of current years but total is less than 3%, then it will be better to save them for next year. no need to report on the current year tax.

You need to go to optimizations where close to the bottom you will find the medical expenses, Check off the last box - Carryforward maximum.and the 2017 medical expenses will carry-forward to the 2018 return next spring.
