I am curious how my fellow Manitobans are treating the the Education Tax Rebate cheques property owners received?
Are you reducing the Net school taxes reported on line 61120 of the MB479 by the rebate received?
What about the Gross school taxes assessed for the Seniors’ school tax rebate.
I can not find any guidance on this.
I would report the gross amounts as shown on the property tax statement. The amounts get prorated at line 24 and 35 respectively to arrive at the 75% figure.
