MB Statement of Benefits - Rent Assist was entered on line 61250 of the MB479. That line is no longer part of MB479 but I can find no notices from MB Finance as to how or if this is to be reported
I don’t see any references to Rent Assist in the 2022 Manitoba Guide for the MB428 and MB479.
And it is removed from the MB479 form. So it looks like it isn’t reported this year. Good catch as I missed seeing that. Thank you.
Looking at 2021’s taxes, the amount was just reported but didn’t affect any calculations. I’m guessing this is why it was removed.
Used to reduce the Manitoba property tax credit in previous years; however, it appears that it is no longer the case since they have separated the rent tax credit out.
