I have a client that had her 2019 return reassessed. She asked me to look into it for her and I found some major problems with it. I have corrected the return and now want to re-file it for her. Of course, I never filed the original return so my file appears to Taxcycle as a new file. Is there a way to mark my file as filed so I can then re-file the return. Last year’s preparer is being a bit of a dick and refused to correct and refile the return.
I had a similar experience, I ended up doing the adjustment in paper form. Seemed the easiest way?
Start with the return as assessed or prepared.
Take an “as filed” snapshot.

I am pretty sure if the initial return was filed electronically (by anyone), you are able to use ReFile. I haven’t done it using TaxCycle (but with ProFile), it looks as if you can indicate on the T1-ADJ, then the T183 gets the R?
Once TaxCycle creates the T1 ADJ, ReFile should be an option.
Thanks everyone for your support. Taking a snapshot of the return as filed worked like a charm.
