I have a case where both spouses are handicapped and have their disability certificate from Revenue Canada. They live alone in their own home. How could the care giver credit be handled.
Not sure if this is correct… BUT I have only had this happen twice and based on my knowledge of my clients… the one who is healthier than the other is the one claims the caregiver credit for the one appears to have more need. I do not apply it to both taxpayers.
Example: female brain works great but limited to no mobility; male brain damage but still mobile…I let the female claim it as in reality she was still running the house.
