Filing deadlines 2020

Revenue Quebec has just announced an extension to May 31st to file TP1’s.
Let’s hope Revenue Canada, considering their poor support making proper filling difficult, will compensate by giving the same extension.

If memory serves correct they announced 1rst last year followed shortly thereafter by the CRA so I would think we are likely to see that.

Thank you for sharing… fingers crossed

Don’t count on the Federal government extending the deadline this year:

The feds also said there was NO way they would forgive the repayments of CERB benefits for self-employed people in that $5K over/under category, the week before forgiving all those debts.

It is also important to remember government semantics: Revenue Quebec did not officially change the filing deadline, instead they simply said they wouldn’t apply penalties or interest if the returns are filed by May 31. So the feds could take a similar administrative position and still say they have not changed he deadline.
