ERR 083 making no sense

Just sent in the AuthReps for a couple. Got this error on ONE of them:

  • ERR.083 — Rep ID associated with a business that is no longer registered with the Represent a Client service - Contact your employer for more information.

How on earth?!!? And what do I do? I know they have a lot of investments (T5’s, etc.) and really don’t want to enter them all by hand.

April 28! Heart attack message. I hope you’re on the phone to the Efile help desk as soon as they open.

If these clients have lot’s of investments, they likely have capital gains.

@kevin
Efile Error 083 - Rep ID associated with a business that is no longer registered with the Represent a Client service.

Horrible when this happens. Clients don’t understand the importance and use of this feature by professional taxpayers. I make RepAClient permission level 2 a requirement for my services. No ifs and or buts.

Same here. If they don’t want to give me access I am going to assume they are hiding something.

I have had an older gentleman who accidentally deny my access..I guess he was clicking on screens looking at stuff… it was a nightmare to get it back.. due to his failing health.

My policy No access = not my client

Hmm…this is curious, but it sounds like they’ve confused your RepID with another? Trust you’ve called the EFile Help Desk to sort this. Sounds like a typo/bad entry, not something else.

Let us know when solved!

This happening to me after filing my ONtario Business Corporate shareholder register returns to identify shareholders of my own corp. somehow that file disconnected me. after 2 stressful days of speaking with total idiots at CRA it got corrected

Ah… I guess I will have to talk to them about this. I thought it might be a temporary issue due of the time of year. But if that’s happened before in similar circumstances, then I see!
