CRA Business Inquiries 800-959-5525

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had any success contact CRA business Inquiries and speaking with a live agent? I am in Ontario and I have been trying to speak with an agent live for the past 6 weeks. Each time I call, the message says to call back at a later time if I want to speak with someone live. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Call a minute before the ON lines open. By the time you put in all the numbers, they should be open. Hopefully you will get in to queue.

NOTE: Friday is the slowest day.

I have not been able to get thru for weeks.. atlantic canada.. I try just as they open, and consecutively for 2.5 hours one day… yes, redial as as I get flipped to auto response. My clients are very upset that I cannot answer their questions as they require a live agent

What can we do aside from service complaints?

At 7:55 it says “Not Available” which means the queue is full. I almost fired a customer yesterday because she insisted we had to call and get an answer. She finally backed off.

Try calling at 8am NL time. The best help comes from them usually. I just keep a list of items I have to inquirel about when I do finally get through.

I thought their phone system knows & adjusts re: what time zone we’re calling from these days (so it won’t connect based on NL operating hours time unless we’re dialing from a NL based number)?

I don’t know - I have been told by someone who should know to call when it is 8am in NL.

Maybe it’s different general vs biz enquiries? Worth a shot..

Maybe we should be contacting the CRA ombudsman or the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne who is accountable for all CRA’s activities.
