Would not mind if you added a diagnostic that will compare the instalments on ‘FederalInstalments’ to the AFR.
While this feature seems to have been implemented (perhaps several years ago) I think there needs to be a tolerance of at least 99 cents built into this.
I have a client who has paid exactly 27,030.01 in corporate instalments. The T2 AFR import page correctly shows this amount in field 840. Since only whole dollar amounts can be used on the T2 return, I am only able to enter 27,030 or 27,031 on the TaxPaymenWS.
Regardless of the amount I enter for instalments paid I am unable to get rid of the following review message “The tax payment on line 840 of the T2 jacket does not match the T2 Auto-fill balance for the current year. Please review and correct if necessary.”
Presumably this is because AFR shows 27,030.01 and I am only able to enter whole numbers such as 27,030 on the TaxPaymentWS which flows to box 840 of the T2 return.
@snoplowguy If you send me the file or a screenshot (amounts and message) to info@taxcycle.com, I will see what I can do. Make it to my attention please.
Steven
@snoplowguy I got your email. I have added a tolerance of $0.99 such that if the absolute value of the difference between the downloaded amount vs manually entered amount is $0.99 or less, the mismatch review message will not appear.
This will be in the next T2 release scheduled to be in later this month in May. I did not make the adjustment retroactively so this suggestion will be implemented to the new 2025 T2 module that will extend the support tax year to October 31, 2025.

Wow, that’s really great @Steven
Thanks for getting this done so quickly.
