I got a client, who used netfile for his return for 2023 and made some mistakes. Now he has come to me to fix this. Can I refile his tax return as it was electronically filed (netfiled not efiled)?
Try it and find out. If EFILE rejects it, there’s your answer. I have REFILED many returns without knowing whether the original was EFILED or NetFiled. If it is rejected by EFILE, you have to use another method (i.e. use “Change My Return” on RAC or send a paper T1-ADJ), so there’s no harm trying REFILE first.

TC refused to refile as it was not efiled by TC. I override that and it’s refiled without any issue.
