Not sure if I’m missing something here, but it seems that every time I have an “unread post” and click on the item I am taken to the FIRST post in the item instead of the FIRST UNREAD post in it. This is both unusual and unproductive as well as annoying.
Can’t think of another forum that does this, regardless of the technology, so I’m wondering if I’m missing something.

I like your idea, or otherwise make it so the most recent post are added to the top.
I’m not seeing that behaviour. When I click on a thread title, the thread opens and scrolls down to the last post. Maybe it’s a browser setting? Have you tried clearing cookies and cache?
Hmm…interesting…maybe a difference between clicking on the title and the body of the originating post (which I think is illogical…but when I clicked the title I went to your post).
Given that I’ve previously read the post I’d think selecting ANYWHERE on it would simply take me to the first unread… but that’s just me.
I guess I was always clicking on the body as well as I see clicking on the title works for me as well
