For late-filed returns, I notice that the T7DRA does not link to the Interest & Late-Filing Penalty Worksheet to remind the client to include these extra costs with their CRA payment. I’ve had a few clients where, after printing their return, I’ve noticed that the T7DRA needs to be reprinted to adjust the “Amount Paid” line to include the Late Filing Penalty and Interest. I’ve also noticed on several of my clients’ CRA accounts an amount owing for unpaid interest and penalties, suggesting that the T7DRA should be updated with this information. Although many clients pay online, this form gives them an easy visual of how much they owe CRA.
