T183 - Taxpayer authorization to be represented

Good afternoon:
I noticed that according to CRA new service, the following:
https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/news/newsroom/tax-tips/tax-filing-season-media-kit/tfsmk2.html

Changes to Form T183 and Form T1013 – T183, Information Return for Electronic Filing of an Individual’s Income Tax and Benefit Return, no longer has an area for taxpayers to authorize a representative to deal with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Instead, authorization is given through T1013, Authorizing or Cancelling a Representative.

But in the taxcylce info sheet, the section still showing an option if the client needs to be represented by the tax preparer for 2017 taxation year. Can this be removed since it does not apply?

The question is still on our Info form as the corresponding field for EFILE still exists. We pointed out to our CRA contacts how this news item makes it sound like an authorization for this specific tax year is not available. They replied that it remains as a valid field to transmit for EFILE until they make changes to T1013 to allow for specific years. They did not say how long it will take to modify T1013 and the systems that support it.
