The taxpayer had T5007 and got some social assistance income in box 11, Tax cycle optimized, and calculated the T5007 amount on the spouse’s side & showed nil income for the taxpayer. The Spouse got full credit on S1. Is this normal or there is some issue with the optimization of the software? I never experienced this before.

However if you lived with your spouse or common-law partner when the payments were received, the one of you who has the higher net income on Line 23600 – Net income (not including these payments or the deductions on Line 21400 – Child care expenses or Line 23500 – Social benefits repayment) has to report all of the payments, no matter whose name is on the slip.

I know about child care expenses but never notice Social benefits. Thanks for the clarification .
