I saw two cases over the weekend where CRA has two copies of the same T4A for a client when we do the AFR. I hope this isn’t widespread!
Have had that as well with a couple different companies. Have also had a couple different banks with multiple errors on slips and T1135 reports.
I hate this season so much.
Mostly what bugs me about THIS year is that nobody is complaining directly to CRA - specifically to Bob WK Hamilton…and of course the Minister in charge is absent, trying to earn another opportunity to fleece the public for another few years of salary and pension. Nor is any news media taking much notice of the whole mess that is the 2025 tax season. (Even “accounting” journals/media.)

We have seen this predominantly in the T4A’s. Several clients with
multiple slips. Some with changes to the number to be input for dental
benefits BUT not shown as amended so - 2 separate T4A’s. Matching
season is going to be gruesome. This has been, without a doubt, the
worst tax season I have seen and I have been doing this a long time.

I guess the issue is where is the problem. Did the issuer file two copies inadvertently due to the mess with filing slips or did CRA somehow duplicate the filing? I can see both ends blaming each other with me and my client as the meat in the sandwich.

I haven’t come across this so far this year but I also don’t have that many pensioners with T4A’s. Also probably I have been filing stuff as I get either downloaded info or info from clients. Matching season could be very bad however.
CIBC T4A = submitted twice. I read somewhere that CIBC had sent out a notification to their clients.
Matching season will be a disaster and with the penalties for not reporting income on your return, the stakes are high to clear up these duplicates.
Same here duplicate. T4A, T5.. I ignore them
