I know a couple of retired Canadians receiving monthly support payments from their government named GIS, but they don’t now if the amount they receive is correct. They are not complaining, just curious because they read something about it. And that “something” is this: Bu support amount is sent to senior citizens whose income is below $21,624/year, but what is included in “Income” is confusing: Their Old Age Pension is accepted as Taxable Income when there are filing their Income Tax yet it is not accepted as Income when calculating GIS, Why??
