Is it possible to separate a dependant into their own separate file? Example would be a child who is now grown and no shared credits or income dependancies.
If you go to Info from the file menu with the return open, you will see under the file information the individual returns listed.
Pick the dependent you want to detach and click on the little heads on the right side. It will detach it and create a separate file.
Right. Once we’ve don that, any idea how we get dependant to stop showing up twice in the Client Manger?
Not sure on that - other than MAYBE a reindex with the option checked to clear the previous index. I have had a few times this season with files showing up twice when I do a search in the client manager, although not directly related to detaching a dependant.
