How do I delete one of the dependents on a tax file I am working on?
It depends on what exactly you’re trying to accomplish. If you have dependant info entered but they’re no longer a dependant (IE: aged parent moved to care home), you can just click on the DELETE DEPENDANT button at the top of the dependant form…
If on the other hand you have a dependant whose return you used to prepare along with the parents but now want to have a separate TaxCycle file for that dependant, you can click on the switch user pull-down menu and then click the detach dependant button…
Or you can access it from the View menu…
You should then be prompted to save the detached dependant’s TaxCycle file as a new/separate file from the parents.
Thanks - not sure why I didn’t see that “delete dependent” button but I found it now
