Client portal / E-signature Alternative

I am looking for an alternative platform where my clients can e-sign various documents and upload files (client portal) on my website. I receive too many emails from clients attaching documents. What do you use in your firms?

I use Taxfolder for sharing documents (both ways). Also allows for esigning.

I started using the free version of MS OneDrive a few years ago, then moved to a paid service - Sync.com (Canadian company), but haven’t been entirely happy with it (various issues I won’t go into here). When I have time, I will look at switching back to a paid version of OneDrive or Sharepoint.

I use SharePoint. Reasonably easy to administer if you have a Microsoft 365 subscription … yes, there’s some learning curve, but it’s not overly grotesque to simply add a folder, set permissions and email the link to a client. They upload/download as permissions are set, and you do the same. Quick and easy…loads of online assistance available in terms of setup. Secure, too.

My big beef is people TEXTING stuff to me…this I do NOT want!!

I’ve been using Verifyle Pro for the past few years without any issues.

Citrix ShareFile is another good options. It has the e-signature add on (RightSignature) baked right into it, offers secure portal and easy encryption of email attachments (and the email itself if your client value this).

I use the portal available though Client Track to provide a way for clients to send without out a scanner and without having to create an account. They just have to click the link and it will allow them to add files or take a picture to send. The files are encrypted. I added my portal link for you so you can see what the client would get. Once they send, I get an email to log in and download. When there are multiple files in one send I download as a zip and conveniently DoxCycle will extract them. I have found this works great for me and my clients.

I was already using Client Track, so when they added the portal I gave it a shot and liked it.

Client Track Portal - Secure Email

Does that allow for eSignatures?

We use TaxFolder for signatures and sending documents back and forth, as well as DoxCycle to organize the documents.

I’m really liking Convoflo, it allows for taking payments too. CPA Canada has a discount for them (if you are a member).

I used e-courier. They gave me a direct link on my email to the clients to click and drag files. I just have to open e-courier and download from there. Clients don’t have to be set up in e-courier to use this.
I(t is so easy!

HI
I used Client Track and happily switched to e-courier, which is much better!!

Similar, but different - RSRS (storage service for closed medical practices) use Docusign and already I’m not a fan. My doctor had the nerve to retire while I’m still alive, and RSRS is handling his file storage & patient retrieval service. I had to sign a document for them, and they use Docusign. I had to create an account, plus a 4-step enrollment procedure. Partway through I decided I wasn’t going any further. My document was signed and I received a confirmation email to that effect. No thanks, Docusign. Whatever solution you use has to be simple for the recipient to use. Click A & B and you’re done. No account, no password. I still have clients with flip phones and no computer.

To be fair…NO electronic solution will work for them.

One can, however, meet the lowest common denominator electronically with an email, a smart phone and a printer (or even without one, using some place like Staples to print and scan for the client). Send, print, sign, photo, send back. That’s about as basic an electronic solution as there is, barring a paid service.
