CGI and the IEL allocation

It seems the IEL allocation amount in dollars is not working from the CGI form. I see an old post about this from 2022. The source file looks like it is trying to pull its allocation from the wrong row of the CGI page or something and it’s giving me zeros. Am I doing something wrong?

I use the corporate linking alot and I always have a diagnostic that the cgi doesnt agree when everything lines up. I believe its the IEL. It never really works 100%.

I find the same as @justinredmond

So, I’ve pretty much stopped using the CGI linking.

If the TY starts in 2024 or later (I think this is the case for you), immediate expensing is not applicable so CGI linking is not allocating the % as you enter in one of the files and in fact, 0% will be allocated to the other files. This will have no bearing on the tax return but yes, I agree that it is confusing. In the next T2 release in May/June when we create the new 2026 T2 module, that module will support TY from 2024 so in T2, immediate expensing will disappear so we will try to handle that better.
