When adding an engagement for 2023 T1, it works great, name and engagement label. But then if I search for another client and click add engagement, the engagement label is defaulting to the previous client name that I just added. I have to keep refreshing. Is that what I am supposed to do? It is a bit of an annoyance, but if that is the way it is supposed to work that I need to keep refreshing I will have to deal with it.
That is not how it is intended to work, that behavior was changed a while back but sounds like it crept back in with some other change.
It should pick up the client name for the client you are adding the engagement to. I will log this one for the team to look at.
I am trying to replicate what you are seeing but it works as expected for me. Can you walk me through the steps you are taking and what browser you are using? Do you have any auto-fill functions or apps enabled?
Hi @sarka, this is what I done to get this issue.
I search for the clients name from the dashboard
I then click on the name
I then click + Add Engagement
Then Tax Preparer, return type T1 and the engagement label shows the name of the client. I then click add engagement
Then if I go to search for another client and click the name and then + add engagement. The box pops up as usual, the client name and email and client phone is correct, the Tax Preparer name is there already, as well as the return type and tax year and the engagment label is the name of the last client I added.
Hi @mjeconsulting I am still unable to replicate what you are seeing - I tried Chrome, Firefox and Edge. What browser are you using? Is there some autofill addon set-up in your browser?
Is anyone else experiencing this?
That just happened to me either last night or this morning (days are blurring into each other) where it’s remembering the form details of the last engagement I created.
For instance:
Searched client, added engagement. For the same client, clicked to add a new engagement and it had all the details I had just put for the prior engagement. It’s only doing it while in the same file though, not when I move on to another client name. I just tried to replicate it from one client to another and couldn’t, only within the same client when you’re already in an engagement.
Hopefully that makes sense but let me know and I can send whatever you need to follow up on it.
I am using Firefox
@sarka this is still happening. Any planned fix or do I got to keep pressing F5 to refresh
Since I am unable to replicate what you are seeing the first step would be to take a look on your local set-up to see if some setting is causing that issue for you. Would you have time to reach out to support and screen share while you add engagements so they can screen capture what you are seeing and also take a look at your browser settings?
In the interim, if you clear cache does that make any difference?
When you add the second engagement - does the label populate BEFORE you select the return type? If yes, do you have any extensions that may be auto-filling that field for you?
That field is only populated by TaxFolder when you select the return type so it should show as blank when the Add Engagement modal is opened. If something is populated in the Engagement field before the Return Type is selected it will retain that information.
If you delete the engagement label then select the return type (or toggle the return type) it will show the current client without having to refresh the whole page.
