Anyone figured out the easiest way to activate a client’s RZ account in order to file a T5 slip. I guess the old days of the actual act of filing the slips was enough is gone.
this is how I do it: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/businesses/topics/gst-hst-businesses/account-register.html
Yeah tried that through represent a client and it did not let me through the id check, I will try again
@james1 I had one last week that I could not register with BRO. It allowed me through the front gate, located the account, then some message about calling the 1-800 number. I had successfully registered another 2 or 3 using BRO but this one was a no go. I called the 1-800 number and received the recording “all our agents are busy - please call back later”.
I got pissed off and just mailed the T5 slips and summary to this popular address;
T5 Program
Jonquière Tax Centre
Post Office Box 1300, LCD Jonquière
Jonquière QC G7S 0L5
There were only 2 T5 supplementaries with the submission so I don’t expect to be fined.
When it comes to filing T5 slips for this client next year, they will have been issued an RZ0001 account by then.
Yeah, that is the exact issue i was having, managed to get hold of someone this morning at the 1-800-959-5525 number to activate the account; however, if you try to call the Electronic Media Processing Unit at 1-800-665-5164 you only get all circuits are currently busy and they hang up
