T3 Sch15

Does anyone know how to correct a previously filed T3 Schedule 15, such as fixing a typo like postal code or adding a missing detail, like one of 25 grandchildren? Should I amend the previous Schedule 15 and avoid modifying or adding it in the current year, or should I correct it in the current year, or both?
I called the CRA, and the agent told me to correct it in the current year because amending the previous year might not carry forward to the current or future years. The CRA agent said they may not identify which information was changed from Amended Sch15 I intend to mail.

Personally, I wouldn’t bother…YMMV.

I have a similar situation and I am just adding the missing beneficiary to this year sch 15

You can go to the “Beneficial” (Beneficial ownership information) worksheet and select “Modfiy” to change information on reportable entities (ie beneficiaries) that you reported on last year but may hot have had complete information. For instance to add a SIN number for a beneficiary who you reported on Schedule 15 last year but who did not have a SIN in 2023.

You can add beneficiaries using that same worksheet.

You can confirm your additions or changes by viewing the “BeneficialOnFile” (Beneficial Owners on File) worksheet.

Only additions and/or changes to the Schedule 15 get send to the CRA. The 2024 Schedule 15 does not contain entries for entities you reported on in 2023 for which there are not changes.
