I believe the column headings on the T1135 are confusing (possibly misleading). This is for part B the more detailed method of reporting. For category 7 - funds held by a securities dealer or trust - you need to report max fair value during the year and fair value at end of the year (based on actual CRA form). For all other categories you report max/year-end costs. The max during the year column just says cost. The year end says cost/fmv - but not to which category this applies (confusing).
