Has anyone ever heard of or used this company? https://www.soraban.com/
From what I understand, they create customized preseason letters with checklists and a questionnaire to update demographics and such. I think it would be an alternative to TaxFolder with a few more bells and whistles.
I’m already locked into TF for the year, but I’m curious about this service.
Some of my US colleagues are singing nothing by praises about this company. The program delivers on its promises, streamlining tax organization with auto-reminders to clients, e-signatures for returns, and features for managing payment deadlines.
It requires a minimum of 50 returns at $25 USD each, but the time-saving potential seems worth it. The software’s dump feature organizes zipped files automatically. Clients may also choose to opt for two-factor authentication via phone/text for added security.
Their server database is in AWS data centers, although the software is primarily aimed at US firms. However, I believe Canadian tax firms can benefit too. I’m planning to use it during the upcoming summer for our firm.
Thank you, that’s great to hear.
I just had a demo of the software, and it looks fantastic. The price tiers were a bit different than you describe. They had prepay packages to start with of 150, 300, 600, or 900 returns with a per return price above that ranging from $22 to $17 depending on the package. He probably didn’t mention 50 returns because the volume we were discussing would be less expensive this way.
It definitely isn’t cheap. The 150 returns price is $3300 and $22 per return after, but it sounds like he could easily get me a better per return price for the first year at least. Prepaying 600 returns was around $10,000. For me, it might be worth it. It does the bulk of what I’m looking to hire an admin assistant to do.
I’m going to ask about the 50 return option. It would be nice to test it with a small number of clients first before diving in and troubleshooting for everyone right off the hop.
