For the sale of Qualified Farm Property, the date of the disposition gets entered on the Schedule 3 Manager. The date is important as to whether the sale was before or after April 20th, 2015. This works really nicely. Unfortunately, if the QFP is split between spouses, all of the capital gains info except for the Date of Disposition flows over to the spouse’s S3M. Taxcycle nicely notifies the user with a diagnostic warning that the date of disposition is missing on the spouse’s return.
This wouldn’t be a big deal, I could enter the same date manually, except that field is locked on the spouse’s return.
I ended up halving everything and entering all amounts separately on each spouse’s return.
